Once there were two women who quarrelled about a baby. Each of them claimed it as her own.
At last, they went to a wise judge to let him decide the case. He heard their explanations but he couldn’t decide the case at once. He thought of the matter for some time. At last, he suggested a solution. He proposed to cut the baby into two equal parts. Then each of them will be given a part. One of the women readily accepted the judgement. But the other woman refused it. She at once withdrew her claim. Instead of her rival.
The judge then gave the decision. He said that the second woman was the true mother of the baby. A true mother never wants her baby should be cut into two parts. She would prefer that her baby should be alive for long.
The judge ordered that the baby should be given to the second woman. Another woman was punished for lying.
